The Mill

 
CMC Steel South Carolina's rolling mill was built in 1999 and is among the best bar mills ever built. The 17 stand mill can produce over 800,000 tons per year with a wide range of products that includes rebar, rounds, angles, channels, flats, squares and T-post.

A key in the design of this mill is the quick change capability, which allows for a complete mill change in less than a hour, significantly less than comparable mills. The mill is also equipped with an on-line laser gauge that continuously measures the dimensions of the finished product. CMC Steel South Carolina has a maximum finishing speed of up to 3,200 feet per minute.

The mill is equipped with in-line straightening and stacking eliminating the need to hand straighten and stack off-line.
