Position Overview

Ensure that shipments are handled quickly, safely, and are cost effective. Track inbound and outbound freight to include companies that provide freight services. Oversee transportation assets and personnel operated within the Region. Responsible for adherence to DOT and Federal regulations, and implementation of required safety procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Plan, organize and manage the work of reporting staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
Monitor and report on transportation costs
Research and suggest cost-effective strategies
Ensure compliance with company safety and government policies
Manage and plan Terminal Supervisors schedules
Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area
Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints

Experience and Skill Requirements

Knowledge of geography and computer applications.
Knowledge of supply chain management and Analytics
Familiarity with ERP and Logistics software - SAP and TMW
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to supervise and train staff
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Intermediate Excel and Power BI skills a plus

2 to 4 years of Trucking Experience

2 to 4 years Managerial Experience as logistics Manager

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree or 8 years in related field
