Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to help establish and manage the regional staffing strategy across multiple lines of business and locations in the West Region. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and enthusiastic HR professional with a passion for recruiting and innovative candidate attraction strategies to help drive top talent to CMC. This is an opportunity to help define and evolve our recruiting function. This role requires engaging with candidates on a human level, relationship management, customer focus, responsiveness and excellence in sourcing, attracting, selecting and hiring top talent in the market.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Plan and implement regional talent acquisition strategy
• Develop policies for talent benchmarking, assessment and interviewing
• Track and analyze hiring metrics to assess recruitment process and provide feedback to the team
• Generate monthly updates about upcoming talent acquisition initiatives
• Create monthly reports on key talent acquisition metrics
• Conduct role briefing with hiring manager and set expectations for recruitment process
• Post jobs to CMC career page and maintain job posting library
• Effectively communicate position description, salary, company benefits and culture to all candidates and manage them effectively throughout the recruitment process
• Design and manage recruitment and selection process, including reviewing resumes/applications, pre-screening qualified applicants, in-person interviews, presenting top candidates to hiring managers and reviewing background reports 

• Document, track and maintain applicant records and status of open positions in applicant tracking system, ensuring documentation is in alignment with Affirmative Action requirements

• Schedule candidate interviews with hiring managers (phone, in-person) including travel, if required

• Initiate drug screening, background checks and physical appointments for all new hires
• Work with local temp agencies to help support seasonal or temp to perm hiring needs
• Partner with business clients in recommending new hire salary offers
• Partner with the HR team to create offer letters, job descriptions and other materials that support recruiting activities
• Serve as brand ambassador at various events, such as career fairs and on-campus recruiting events
• Proactively seek market intelligence to gain competitive advantage in attraction, assessment and sourcing methodologies
• Coordinate and ensure compliance and AAP tracking
• Suggest process improvements and new ideas for improving talent acquisition activities


Experience and Skill Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of sourcing or recruiting experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
• In-depth knowledge of candidate selection methods
• Advanced understanding of full cycle recruitment processes
• Experience identifying and implementing a talent strategy is preferred
• Hands on experience with applicant tracking systems
• Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage a large workload
• Ability to build effective relationships within and across the business
• Experience working with individuals at all levels of an organization
• Highly organized with a focus on details and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Self-initiative along with ability to respond quickly to client requests
• Able to effectively cope with change in a fast paced environment
• Exposure to Affirmative Action requirements a plus
• Creative thinker and proactive problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
