Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (5372)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic with experience in heavy equipment up-keep and repairs at our Fabrication location in Kansas City, MO! This individual will effectively communicate equipment status to all team members, interpret blueprints, efficiently install machinery and/or parts per OEM specifications. As well as maintain machinery and/or equipment while using various tools. This position could be a night shift and/or day shift depending on schedules and production needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair shop machinery and/or mechanical equipment to include overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters, and welders.
  • Effectively monitor and inspect equipment for defects.
  • Perform all facets of the repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditions.
  • Perform predictive/preventive/corrective maintenance while utilize computer systems and programs for documentation of maintenance/safety activities; to include work orders, time entry, notifications, and corrective actions/comments.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping by keeping clean equipment, work area, and tools in good working condition.
  • Work alongside other Technicians on job orders and troubleshooting.
  • Attend extensive training regarding applicable equipment.
  • Participate in all site safety programs and support all company policies and procedures.
  • Work various shifts including weekends and evenings (as needed), with schedule changes possible per production needs.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined with experience working in both areas. 
  • Knowledge with servicing and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Possess specific knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits while Following OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed.
  • Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations.
  • Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals, write clearly.
  • Must be able and willing to cross train as required.
  • Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather.
  • Welding skills a plus.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
