DOT Truck Driver - Local (5548)

Position Overview

Truck drivers support the initiative of providing exceptional customer service in a timely, professional and courteous manner. CMC’s truck drivers are responsible for the delivery of products to customers, contractors, and job sites while adhering to all company, state and federal regulations. This is an hourly position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 4:00PM, with some Saturdays. The right individual will be flexible in working hours that may extend beyond regular business hours. This is a local driving position out of S. Austin, which will allow you to be home every night!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Must be considerate to the needs and requirements of CMC Customers
  • Must ensure that each customer is serviced in a timely, professional, courteous and respectful manner
  • Daily servicing of CMC customers roll-off boxes
  • Daily servicing of CMC yard activities that require truck assistance
  • Transport scrap steel boxes to branch location for processing
  • Daily Pre-Trip of assigned equipment, filling out necessary forms
  • Daily maintenance of DOT truck log
  • Driver must adhere to all DOT laws and regulations
  • Daily communication with Trucking Supervisor about daily activities
  • Central Texas route
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience
  • CDL Class A Drivers License required 
  • No on-road preventable accidents during the past (3) years as shown on the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • No more than one moving violation on the MVR in the previous three (3) years
  • Must be flexible, variable schedule and overtime as necessary. No overnight driving.
  • End-Dump and Roll-Off experience preferred
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
