Data Analyst – Commercial Process (5820)

Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Data Analyst to assist in the design and execution of data analytic solutions for all of CMC’s lines of business. This person must be an excellent hands-on analyst that can mine, compile, interpret, and visualize complex data sets from many data sources – often covering multiple lines of business. The ideal candidate should be adept at transforming these complex data sets into intuitive, readable reports and/or dashboards. The candidate should be able to identify trends and possible opportunities for growth for the targeted CMC line of business/department/segment. The candidate must be able to participate within a team environment to identify and build strategic solutions to provide stakeholders with the necessary information to make key business decisions. This participation includes requirement gathering, status updates, execution, delivery and support of all data analytic deliverables and platforms.
This person must be a well-rounded data analyst professional who has the ability to connect the dots between business needs and technology. The candidate must possess the necessary soft skills to successfully collaborate with many different stakeholders and senior leadership to drive strategic decision. Strong work ethic and program management skills is a must as this person will be expected to simultaneously participate in multiple projects through completion, resulting with high-quality end-deliverables.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Expected to successfully collaborate with many different stakeholders and senior leadership to identify solutions needed to meet their business goals
• Participate in cross-functional teams through a collaborative process to compile, interpret and analyze key data sets
• Summarize key findings by producing concise informational reports and dashboards
• Import, cleanse, transform, validate and analyze data from multiple data sources
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends/patterns in complex data sets
• Provide research assistance for strategic planning and business development efforts

Experience and Skill Requirements

• 3 years of experience in a data analysis role
• Strong data analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• EXCELLENT communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working with visualization tools such as Power BI
• Strong requirement gathering experience
• Proven working experience designing dashboards/reports
• Experience with SAP BI Suite
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Education Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics or another related field required
