Drafting (CAD) Manager (5211)

Position Overview

Oversee and coordinate drafting/detailing team's workload, ensure industry standards and procedures are followed, report key operating indicators to management while working closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensure department’s drawings conform to industry and company standards
• Review drawings prior to release
• Attend pre-construction meetings and project conference calls
• Review project status with team
• Department cost control and budget
• Produce accurate material lists for fabrication
• Creative thinking and problem solving abilities
• Work with multiple departments and customers to ensure quality
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for each job
• Train and develop personnel as appropriate
• Ensure department complies with business initiatives
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned

 

Experience and Skill Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience
• Experience in concrete industry preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role preferred
• Ability to read and understand construction specifications and drawings
• Microsoft Office (Excel,Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
• CAD (Rebar CAD and AsA Microstation)
• Skilled in scheduling, planning, organizing and prioritizing work
• Effective skills in communication, motivation, performance evaluation and customer service

Travel
Occasional local site/customer office visits

Education Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent 
  • Two year technical degree from an accredited school or college preferred
