Electrical Technician (3363)

Position Overview

The Electrical Technician provides technical support to all areas of the plant to ensure safe and continuous operation of equipment. The Electrical Technician maintains all the equipment in the plant by showing proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment. The Electrical Technician maintains a professional relationship with all of the operational departments to ensure all communications and documentation are realized.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Safety oriented person with leadership skills to perform maintenance duties in a team environment and the ability to work alone with little or no supervision
  • Make decisions on repairs, be self motivated, look beyond the problem at hand, estimate man hours and job completion hours
  • Assisting mechanics and operators as necessary.  Must be able to communicate technically, orally and written.• Must have experience with industrial electrical and mechanical repairs and knowledgeable about hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
  • Must read electrical, architectural and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements with ability to lay out projects and locate prints
  • Maintain and repair overhead cranes
  • Plan the layout of wiring systems
  • Maintain automated production processes
  • Connect electrical equipment to power supplies
  • Maintain electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Maintain and repair welding machines and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot all systems in specified areas and be willing to train others.
  • PLC trained and experienced, computer literate, have own set of basic hand tools
  • Be multi-task oriented, self sufficient, ability tp fully plan out, prepare, and carry out jobs
  • Working knowledge of high voltages
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical valves and switches, crane electrical systems, A/C – D/C drives and motors, PLC’s and 480 V three phase
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of high voltages
  • Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
  • Some overtime will be required 
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with a strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to work in extreme heat, elevated areas and confined spaces
  • Must pass background check
  • Must pass pre-employment physical
  • Must pass Physical Agility Test (PAT)
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
