Position Overview

Assist customers at our Orlando (Apopka) facility in the loading/unloading materials; grading of materials; moving materials from one area to another using a forklift, and other general laborer duties, all while working in a safe manner.  Hours are day shift, Monday - Friday with some overtime and/or Saturday work required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The job candidate will be required to load/unload containers using a forklift, request preventative maintenance on equipment as required, and work other warehouse duties as assigned. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment, have a steady job history, ability to pass drug and background screening, excellent organizational skills; and possess the ability to work safely in small, high traffic areas. 

• Prices steel, variety of steel scrap
• Provides tickets for customers
• Identifies material to assign a correct value.
• Assesses by grade accurate weight of the material
• Follows all safety protocols
• Assists walk-up customer service and obtains driver's license or accurate documentation & back-up for materials sold
• Upon pick-up of scrap, identify the proper carrier to pick up correct materials/container
• Tracks ticket materials, properly ID vehicles & person, request legally required documentation of customers
• Self-regulate flow of incoming
• The first point of contact in the yard. Identify the purpose of the visit, direct customers, delivery, etc.

Experience and Skill Requirements

1+ years in manufacturing, warehousing, or similar environment

Prior forklift experience

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Excellent customer service skills

Some computer experience desired

Proven safety track record

Education Requirements

HS diploma or GED required.
