Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Shop supervisor at our Muncie Fab Shop to schedule, direct and complete a variety of operational and supervisory functions while managing employees and ensuring safe work practices through the production of our Rebar product.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Meet production quality, quantity, and safety standards
• Set clear objectives and hold employees accountable
• Train new employees - ensure equipment certifications are obtained and safety standards are followed
• Production Reports required by management
• Ensure that business is conducted with the highest standards of quality and integrity
• Control Asset utilization and resource capacity including inventory management (Raw materials and WIP)
• Meet or exceed financial and safety targets (KPI’s, output, Labor, Safety, Quality, CS Service, Costs, Culture, and regulatory compliance)
• Provide overall guidance and support of safety and environmental initiatives, improvements, investigations, and corrective actions
• Ensure integration of CMC standard operating processes and procedures into the shop organization
• Act as liaison between Senior Management and subordinate levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, and policies etc.
• Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations/laws
• Ensure that business is conducted with the highest standards of quality and integrity. Ensure adherence to CMC Principles, Culture and Code of Conduct, company policies and procedures
• Select, supervise, evaluate and develop staff
• Work closely with Human Resources to develop and retain key employees

Experience and Skill Requirements

• 5 years of experience as Fabrication Supervisor

• Knowledge of rebar shop operations preferred 

• Safety and Environmental standards

• Quality standards

• Inventory standards

• Process Management/Continuous Improvement

• Performance Management

• Training and Development

 

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or greater
