Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Inspector to support CMC Recycling in Dallas, Texas. As part of the CMC team, the Inspector will support the initiative of providing strong customer service in a timely, professional and courteous manner. CMC's Inspectors will ensure compliance for all inbound ferrous materials in accordance to corporate source control, safety and environmental requirements as outlined. This is an hourly position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM, most Saturdays and overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Must comply with safety procedures and regulations at all times
  • Accurate identification of material to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines
  • Provide extraordinary customer service
  • The Source Control Inspector will take a leading role in the inspection, elimination and educate of customers and internal issues
  • The Source Control Inspector will be responsible for the inspection of scrap metals during the receiving, processing and shipping of scrap in regards to meeting the quality, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Source Control Inspector will ensure compliance for all inbound ferrous materials in accordance to corporate source control, safety and environmental requirements as outlined but not limited to applicable sections of the Environmental Policy.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization
Experience and Skill Requirements


  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment
  • Great observation and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task


  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
  • 1 year of Recycling or Quality Control experience
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
