Industrial Equipment Maintenance Manager (5792)

Position Overview

This position involves a wide variety of job conditions and responsibilities. The Maintenance Manager is considered the lead diagnostician and directs the activities of the Maintenance department which includes preparing and fulfilling repair, construction and preventive maintenance schedules. These activities maximize the availability of production equipment throughout the facility in the Dallas, TX location.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with production personnel and management to seek most efficient maintenance solutions.
  • Documentation of maintenance through SAP program. Communicate daily to management changes, additions, completion dates/times and provides cost and time estimates.
  • Delegation and supervision of multiple employees and contractors to accomplish maintenance needs as well as hands-on involvement when the need arises.
  • Establish strategies to efficiently and cost effectively maintain or increase production in conjunction with management and division priorities.
  • Ensuring that all department personnel comply with corporate & division policies & procedures.
  • Communicate equipment and facility needs to the Branch Manager and/or Operations Manager as needed. Manage costs and obtain management approval for higher cost items.
  • Work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • 3 or more years experience managing a maintenance team at similar facility. 
  • 5 years or more related experience in recycling yard maintenance and heavy equipment maintenance – with heavy emphasis and experience with fluid hydraulics.
  • Strong Office equipment & computer skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand Hydraulic & Electrical Schematics, combustion engine repair, PM, and trouble shoot electrical problems.
  • Oral and written communication skills and Interpersonal skills.
  • Must maintain attention to detail, confidentiality, proactive attitude and professional demeanor when dealing with staff and branch matters.
  • Savvy to build interpersonal relationship and work through resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Collaborative and cooperative nature.
  • Hands on maintenance, diagnostics, and repair abilities.
  • Experience maintaining material handlers, excavators and hydraulic equipment.
  • Bilingual Preferred.
Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
