Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician - Recycling (5541)

Position Overview

Commercial Metals is looking for a FT Heavy Equipment maintenance mechanic for its Tampa, FL location.  This position is a Monday - Friday position from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some overtime/Saturday work required as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

*Maintains machinery and equipment.

*Trouble shoots malfunctions and makes repairs.

*Works on heavy equipment, trucks, balers, shears, material handlers, etc.

*Takes charge of his/her own safety as well as other employees' safety.

*Welds as necessary.

*Assists in other departments as needed 

*Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with safety rules and regulations.

*Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Experience and Skill Requirements

*Experience working on Heavy Equipment and/or Trucks.

*Strong safety culture.

*Knowledge of welding, cutting, basic electrical knowledge a Plus.


Education Requirements

HS diploma or GED
