Position Overview

The individual supports the liquid process team in accordance with all company policies and standards with an emphasis on safety. The individual will operate mobile lifting equipment, and stand in at various positions when needed. The main focus of the individual will be to supply materials needed by the liquid and forming process areas during shift without any delay to the steelmaking operation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

wear proper PPE at all times
-work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following company guidelines and procedures
-supply liquid process work areas with supplies as needed
-supply forming process work areas with supplies as needed
-communicate with crane operators to move supplies as needed
- unload incoming truckloads of materials and stack them safely in the warehouse
-communicate with fellow workers and others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
-inspect mobile equipment and fill out an inspection report each shift
-be alert of unsafe conditions at all times and report them immediately
-attend and participate in safety meetings
-perform house keeping regularly
-fill in as scrap crane operator and 2nd helper as needed
-accumulate 2 PSM’s/month

Experience and Skill Requirements

basic computer skills
-work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
-some overtime will be required
-must be able to lift 50lbs
-must be able to operate various types of mobile equipment (forklift, loader)
-ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment
-must be able to learn quickly and multitask
-ability to work in extreme heat

Education Requirements

Vo-Tech High school or High school/GED.
