Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Recycling location in Tulsa, OK. This individual will sort material and operate mobile equipment. With an uncontrolled climate this position's working conditions include exposure to heat and cold. This is an hourly position, normal business hours are Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM and Saturday 8-12. Production hours often extend before and after normal business hours. Overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Load and unload trucks or transport material with a crane while using a magnet and/or grapple attachment.
  • Sort material by grade and/or size per customer specs.
  • Perform safety inspections while assisting with minor repairs and wash equipment.
  • Work safely by understanding near miss reporting and participating in a pro-active safety environment by comply with safety procedures and regulations at all times.
  • Constantly perform repetitive finger motions movement and twisting or pressure involving the wrists/hands.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping by keeping working areas free and clear of clutter.
  • Perform additional task assigned by supervisor to include manual sorting as needed.
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills with great organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps frequently by climbing in and out of crane cab.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • 1+ year experience in either recycling or manufacturing environment preferred.
Education Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred
