Position Overview

The role of the Project Manager is responsible for managing all projects from the award of a contract through all phases of work until completion. This process is of utmost importance to the success of the company as it ensures profit margins for each project are met. Company leadership stays abreast of significant issues, and our contractual obligations are properly fulfilled. As such, Project Managers are the primary responsibility holders for the success or failure of a project. This position will primarily office in Buda, TX;however occasional travel to Austin and San Antonio can be expected.  TX. Hours may be varied, but generally 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Travel up to 25% of the time can be expected.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Review all purchase orders, sales summary, & any other documents on projects that we are awarded to ensure that all our inclusions and exclusions are completely understood before being detailed by the branch.
  • Scheduling of Detailing & Material Deliveries as well as reviewing all RFI’s and communicating to sales team any opportunities for Change Orders that are a result of these RFI’s or any changes in our scope of work.
  • Oversee efforts to ensure that CMC fulfills contractual obligations on the assigned project(s).
  • Coordinate project requirements with the contractor’s representative as well as with the rebar installer, engineer and/or architect as required.
  • Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the contractor, detailers, and CMC production staff as needed.
  • Review changes to the project to determine their scope, ensure the accuracy of same, and then process the appropriate documentation in accordance with the company’s change order procedures.
  • Assist sales as needed in the change order process culminating in the acceptance of the change order by the customer.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to appropriate staff, workers, and customers.
  • Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
  • Work with Detailing Manager to help control the financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with customers.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Experience in placing rebar, commercial concrete contractor or general contractor preferred.
  • Prior experience in the Construction Industry preferred.
  • Prior experience reading blueprints required.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to initiate creative solutions to fulfill customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills required with attention to detail.
  • Holds customer service with high regard and interacts effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Occasional climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, reaching and crouching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Bachelors in Construction Management a plus.
