Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a Rebar Fabricator to play a key role in ensuring customer fabricated steel orders are completed timely and in a manner that meets quality expectations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Commercial Metals Company’s Guiding Principles
• Maintain a safe working environment and exhibit a positive safety attitude
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks

Experience and Skill Requirements

• Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to work outside in the elements, including extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects as necessary.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts as necessary.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, kneel, squat, crawl and reach.
• Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required.
• Bilingual English and Spanish speaking skills preferred.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
