SEC Reporting Senior Analyst (5611)

Position Overview

Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking a SEC Reporting Senior Analyst to provide external financial reporting support to the Company, under the direction of the Director, SEC Reporting. This person will gain exposure to our senior leadership team and have the ability to fully learn the business.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The individual in this position will:
• Take a significant role in preparing the Company's quarterly and annual SEC filings.
• Assist in the completion of the US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists for all SEC filings.
• Prepare clear and organized work papers that adequately support the Company's SEC filings and the internal/external audit process.
• Analyze internal financial and operational management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Assist with preparation of retirement plan financial statements.
• Assist with preparation of the Company’s annual report and proxy statement.
• Perform detail reviews of work performed by other team members.
• Assist in the research, evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
• Partner with Finance, Transactional Accounting, Legal and business units on key technical accounting issues.
• Update and maintain accounting policies for consistency and compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Ensure that proper internal controls are performed and documented to support SOX compliance initiatives.
• Serve as liaison to the Company's external and internal auditors.
• Assist with special projects and other activities as needed.


Experience and Skill Requirements

• CPA with 3-5 years of public accounting or industry experience, with exposure to SEC reporting is preferred. 
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, combined with the ability to research complex accounting issues.
• Experience with complex financial analysis and review.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• SAP, Workiva, and iXBRL experience is a plus, but not required.
• Energetic and proactive individual.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours to meet SEC and other project deadlines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business required, Master's preferred.
