Position Overview

To build and maintain in a limited scope all mill stands and or chocks and related equipment to insure product through-put in the mill with minimal delays due to equipment availability.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Correctly assemble and disassemble mill stands in a safe and timely manner to insure minimal delays in production
  • Trouble shoots and correct or identify problems or potential problems related to stands and or bases prior to being placed in service.
  • Follow standard procedures during routine work but also have the ability to adapt to situations outside the norm. while insuring that all safety precautions are used
  • Must be able to interact well with both upstream and downstream disciplines to insure smooth flow in shop and operations gets what they need.
  • Basic understanding of rolling operation
  • Ability to input and extract data from QMOS as it pertains to their position
  • Perform whatever duties may arise in other disciplines as the need and their skill level allow
Experience and Skill Requirements

-basic computer skills
-work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
-some overtime will be required
-must be able to lift 50lbs
-ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
-must be able to learn quickly and multi-task
-ability to work in extreme heat
